Handheld GPS devices from Garmin

Garmin has developed a whole range of GPS devices that have been built on the lines of the traditional Jeppesen system technology with the requisite interface for any location in and around the USA. These GPSMAP devices are infused with a number of features which make it possible to get loads of information regarding weather, location and surrounding air traffic all within a short period of time.

Let us take a look at the Garmin 96, 695 and 696 version of this line of GPSMAP devices.

The Garmin 695 possess a built in high definition graphic counter that enables viewing of terrain and hazards pertaining to your flight plan. It also has features like FliteCharts that make it easier for one to navigate without the need for conventional paper charts. The Garmin 696 is the high end version of the Garmin 695 and combines high end navigation mapping functions as also the XM weather and air traffic updates due to many optional functions infused in it.

The Garmin 96 is the simplest GPSMAP device with superb navigation aids which are aided by the grayscale contour map setting and extensive database mapping allowing for unlimited freedom to roam anywhere in the world.
